School Health Education and Disease Prevention In this exposition, we dissect the aforementioned topic from two perspectives. Foremost, we focus on communicable diseases and how interventions can limit suffering due to preventable infections. Secondly, we address the locus occupied by non-communicable diseases in residential institutions of learning. Communicable unlike non-communicable diseases can be transmitted between objects and animals. Health education empowers individuals to prevent disease by behaving responsibly. Applying the variables of the Health Belief model enables us to systematically address the subject. Accordingly, perceptions about disease and health modulate the actions that are taken toward any disease. Health Education provides the students with the gamut of paraphernalia to navigate disease and health dynamics. Focal safety areas In residential learning institutions the following areas require constant inspection, supervision and surveillance to prev...

Physical Exercise, Childhood, and Adulthood Health Status Childhood physical fitness shapes the state of health that individuals experience in their future. Studies have shown that sedentary childhood leads to poor health outcomes during early and late adulthood. During the formative days, an active lifestyle shapes the physical structure as well as physiological status. Children who are conditioned to unhealthy diets are also likely to be lazy, and consequently less active. Studies have also associated such lifestyles with a higher incidence of illnesses and even mortality. Physical inactivity can Lead to energy aberrations and can increase the risk of becoming overweight or obese, increase the risk of factors for cardiovascular disease, including hyperlipidemia high blood pressure, obesity, and insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, increase the risk for developing type 2 diabetes, Increase the risk for developing breast, colon, endometrial, and lung cancers ...

El Nino and Aflatoxicosis Summary Liver Cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths globally, primarily affecting populations in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Aflatoxin, a food contaminant produced by the fungi Aspergillus species , is a known human carcinogen that has been demonstrated to cause the pathogenesis of Liver cancer. Several determinants affect the propagation of fungi and the grade of Aflatoxin contamination in food. Drought stress is one of the factors that increase the vulnerability of plants to fungi and hence Aflatoxin contamination. Aflatoxicosis is the outcome of exposure to aflatoxins and may be acute or chronic. Acute exposure can cause fatalities in humans and livestock. Chronic exposure results in liver cancer and lowered immunity. Aflatoxins are biochemicals produced by fungi known as Aspergillus. There are several Aspergillus species that occur in nature. Examples of Aspergillus include; Aspergillus nomius, A. flavus, A. para...
